We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Tour Cook to prepare high-quality meals for a production team while on the road. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, prepping, and cooking meals in various locations, often with limited kitchen facilities. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced touring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare nutritious and well-balanced meals for the production team, considering dietary restrictions and preferences;
Source ingredients and manage food supplies while staying within budget;
Set up and operate mobile kitchens, catering trucks, or temporary cooking stations;
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in all environments;
Adapt menus based on available local ingredients and changing schedules;
Work closely with tour management to coordinate meal schedules around production timelines;
Clean and maintain cooking equipment and kitchen areas;
Ensure timely meal service despite travel-related challenges.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook, chef, or caterer, preferably in a touring or remote setting;
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices;
Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines;
Experience handling dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-free meals;
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and locations;
Strong organizational and time-management skills;
Valid driver’s license (a plus, but not required);
Ability to lift heavy supplies and work in different environments.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience cooking for touring bands, film crews, or large-scale events;
Experience working in food trucks, catering, or large-volume meal preparation.
