Offer Description
1 (one) Research Fellowship (BI) for Master Student
FCiências. ID is offering a research fellowship for a master's student for the project "Accelerat. AI" funded by IAPMEI and the European Union - Next Generation EU Fund. The project aims to develop conversational agents in Portuguese using AI, with a focus on multimodal information processing and neural models for language and image using deep learning technology.
Admission requirements: Proficiency in Portuguese (spoken and written, level C2), certified or as a mother tongue. Candidates should be enrolled in MSc in Journalism or Communication Sciences.
Preferred skills: Fluency in English; experience in annotating journalistic documents for AI training datasets.
Work plan: Conduct research on AI applied to Language Technology, participate in project meetings, contribute to publications, and disseminate project results. The work will be at the Natural Language and Speech Research Group, Universidade de Lisboa, or at INESC-TEC, Universidade da Beira interior, under supervision of Professors António Branco and Ricardo Campos.
Fellowship details: Duration of 6 months starting July 2025, with a monthly allowance of €1040.98. The fellowship includes personal accident insurance and social security options.
Selection process: Candidates will be assessed based on optional skills, motivation letter alignment, language proficiency, and possibly an interview. Candidates scoring below 80 points are not eligible.
