Fundação D. Anna de Sommer Champalimaud e Dr. Carlos Montez Champalimaud (Champalimaud Foundation), a private, non-profit research institution, is opening a call for a Clinical Research Scientist. This call is within the scope of Horizon Europe’s Artillery project.
Work Plan

- Collaborate in the development and execution of research activities as part of the European project Artificial Intelligence for early detection of non-communicable disease risk in people with breast cancer (ARTILLERY);
- Assist in data collection and processing, particularly in the realm of medical imaging and clinical studies;
- Contribute to the management and coordination of project activities;
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals;
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables.

Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Biomedical Engineering or a life sciences related discipline.
Essential skills

- Acquittance to medical imaging and its infrastructure (DICOM, PACS, and healthcare standards);
- Prior experience with clinical systems (EHR/EMR);
- Training and research experience in clinical studies;
- Excellent spoken and written English;
- Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills;
- Availability to start as soon as possible;
- Eagerness to learn research and management skill.
Desirable skills that will also be considered

- Scientific CV with publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Experience with programming languages (Python/R).

Maximum allowable duration of the contract including the respective renewals

Maximum duration of the project: 30th April 2028 (60 months starting from 1st May 2023)
- Candidates will be screened to determine eligibility based on minimum qualifications listed in call. Candidates meeting minimum requirements will be scored according to the required application materials. CV 70% weighting, motivation letter 20%. Top candidates will be interviewed (in person, or remotely). The result of the interview is then the sole evaluation criteria (basic documentation required);
- If no tie, holding of interviews at the discretion of the Evaluation Committee;
- If provided, and if shortlisted, candidates’ referees may be contacted and may count towards evaluation.
