The main purpose of this role is to provide Consumer Lines insurance products (Accident, Health, Travel, Electronic Devices, Glasses, Cyber, etc insurances) sales penetration and generating profitable premium income through the effective management and development of brokers & sponsors pipeline. The role will incorporate market analysis, opportunity assessment, prospecting, negotiation and closing new business opportunities by supporting the prevailing underwriting strategy. The role will interact with Brokers and Big Accounts and requires an ability to engage, influence and manage various priorities within accounts. A detailed understanding of market dynamics and the ability to influence clients, prospect leads and close deals. The role is very commercial and mainly sales oriented with a deep focus on Direct Marketing, Travel and Affinity Programmes deals. Main key responsibilities:Business development is key to contribute to Consumer Lines growth. Therefore, we are searching for an experienced “hunter” who must search the market for opportunities to sell a variety of products and after rely of business lines specialists (DM, Affinity or Travel) for launching purposes. Attainment of the branch Consumer Lines business plan through Prepare and follow Forecast vs Plan activities and goals. Identifying and developing growth opportunities, new business revenue generation, creating and maintaining a business pipeline according to Plan. Renewal of existing business where BDM input is required. Working with underwriters to enhance profitability and work in the deviations. Collaborate with Account Manager to implement new business before launch plan. Being instrumental in generating suitable regional campaigns. Working effectively to generate and support cross-selling opportunities between product lines. Providing timely and accurate reporting to Management Iberia and/or Regional Teams. Market Analysis – Competitor’s product proposition and market trend reviews. Internal and External Relationship Development Be the Primary individual in the Chubb / Broker or Sponsor relationship, recognised as such by peer group and become the focal point for query resolution. Maintain productive internal relationships with the branch and regional teams. Monitor and control Broker Management activities: Delivery of agreed activity plans, against targets, strategies and action plans Monitoring quote and strike rates, growth and profitability Taking appropriate action to respond to underperformance of brokers. Insurance Knowledge Knowledge of Consumer Lines products in order to properly represent the Chubb appetite and to comply with regulatory competency requirements. Be very competent at preparing and conducting presentations. QualificationsKnowledge & Experience: Specific similar experience in an insurance company, broker or insurance department in a Large Companies (Bank, Utility, Telco, Industry). University degree or accredited experience. Knowledge on insurance, particularly in Direct Marketing, Affinity programmes, and Travel insurance (Business and Leisure). Knowledge and relationships with the local brokers & sponsors in the Portuguese market. Native Portuguese speaker. Fluent in English both oral & written is required. Spanish would be a plus as Iberia headquarter is located in Madrid. The right combination of a self-managed senior sales professional with a team player within a structure where he/she needs to interact with other individuals to achieve his/her objectives. Managing virtual teams experience at regional level ideally. Ability to identify business opportunities. Excellent communication & Presentation skills. Goals oriented.
