Senior Backend Developer - Node.js

A fast-growing global consumer technology company is looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer to join its international engineering team. The organisation builds innovative real-time digital products used daily by millions of users worldwide. Their platform focuses on creativity, self-expression, and enhancing online communication experiences through advanced audio technology.

The Role

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will take ownership of server-side architecture, backend services, and data infrastructure while working closely with Dev Ops and product teams to scale systems globally. You’ll play a key role in designing performant, secure, and scalable backend solutions supporting real-time user interactions. Their tech stack includes:

Node.js (Express)
Mongo DB
Redis
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Kubernetes
Docker
Git Lab / CI/CD

Responsibilities:
Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design new features
Optimise services for performance, scalability, and reliability
Implement security and data protection best practices
Design and manage data storage solutions
Develop reusable backend components and libraries
Contribute to testing strategies including unit and E2 E testing

Requirements:
5+ years’ experience as a Backend Developer
Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs
Experience with SQL and/or No SQL databases
Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Solid understanding of TDD, SOLID principles, and software design practices
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD workflows
Experience monitoring and optimising system performance
At least B2 level English language skills
