OFFER DESCRIPTION CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPUniversity of Coimbra opens a call for two research fellowship, in the framework of the R&D project project “MERGE - Recognition of Emotions in Music - Next Generation” (reference: PTDC/CCI-COM/3171/2021), financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology, through national funds (PIDDAC), in the following conditions:Scientific area: Informatics Engineering.Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements: Master’s Degree in Informatics Engineering or similar enrolled in a program in Informatics Engineering or similar.Although the recipients must be enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to the attribution of an academic degree, at the time of application it is not necessary for the candidate to have made such an enrollment, and proof of enrollment must be presented until the fellowship is contractualized. Candidates are only required to meet the requirements to enroll in the training offer. If there are candidates already enrolled (including attending a course), they compete on an equal footing with those who are not enrolled.Work plan/ Objectives:Scholarship 1:Objectives:1. Research and development of classic feature engineering and machine learning approaches for static audio-based Music Emotion Recognition (MER), as well as the required datasets2. Critical evaluation of the developed DL models.Regime: The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime. The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of the UC, in its current wording, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute , and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, both in their current wording.Location: DEI-FCTUC at the University of Coimbra.Duration: 6 months.Renewal: Eventually renewable.Scientific orientation:Scholarship 1: Rui Pedro Pinto de Carvalho, Renato Eduardo Silva Panda e Paiva e Matthew Edward Price Davies.Scholarship 2: Rui Pedro Pinto de Carvalho e Ricardo Manuel da Silva Malheiro.Financial conditions: The amount of the fellowship is € corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (Selection methods: CV Analysis (60%) and Interview (40%). This document is mandatory only in the contractualization phase.Applications submission: Applications must be submitted in Submission deadline date: 27/06/2022.Additional information: The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email. After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date. After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance. Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.     Finance is a field that deals with the study of investments. It includes the dynamics of assets and liabilities over time under conditions of different degrees of uncertainty and risk. Finance can also be defined as the science of money management. Finance aims to price assets based on their risk level and their expected rate of return. Finance can be broken into three different sub-categories: public finance, corporate finance and personal finance.


    Portugal (português: [puɾtuˈɣal]), oficialmente a República Portuguesa (português: República Portuguesa [ʁɛˈpuβlikɐ puɾtuˈɣezɐ]), é um país localizado principalmente na Península Ibérica, no sudoeste da Europa. É o estado soberano mais ocidental da Europa continental, sendo limitado a oeste e a sul pelo Oceano Atlântico e a norte e a leste pela Espanha. O seu território inclui também os arquipélagos atlânticos dos Açores e da Madeira, ambas regiões autónomas com governos regionais próprios. A língua oficial e nacional é o português. Portugal é o mais antigo Estado-nação da Península Ibérica e um dos mais antigos da Europa, tendo o seu território sido continuamente povoado, invadido e disputado desde a pré-história. Fundado em 868, o Concelho de Portugal ganhou destaque após a Batalha de São Mamede (1128). O Reino de Portugal foi posteriormente proclamado após a Batalha de Ourique (1139), e a independência de Leão foi reconhecida pelo Tratado de Zamora (1143). Nos séculos 15 e 16, Portugal estabeleceu o primeiro império marítimo e comercial global, tornando-se um das principais potências econômicas, políticas e militares do mundo. Durante este período, hoje conhecido como a Era dos Descobrimentos, os exploradores portugueses foram os pioneiros da exploração marítima, notadamente sob o patrocínio real do Príncipe Henrique, o Navegador e do Rei João II, com viagens notáveis ​​como a de Bartolomeu Dias para além do Cabo da Boa Esperança (1488 ), A descoberta de Vasco da Gama da rota marítima para a Índia (1497-1498) e a descoberta europeia do que viria a ser o Brasil (1500). É um país desenvolvido com uma economia avançada e elevados padrões de vida. Além disso, está bem colocado nas classificações de liberdade moral (2 °), paz (3 °), democracia (7 °), liberdade de imprensa (10 °), estabilidade (15 °), progresso social (18 °) e prosperidade (26 °). Membro das Nações Unidas e da União Europeia, Portugal foi também um dos membros fundadores da NATO, da zona euro, da OCDE e da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa.
