As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for executing and supporting German end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with local legislation and internal client established policies. The role requires close collaboration with the client, German relevant authorities and internal teams.
Payroll Delivery / Payroll Operations
Ensure the strict execution of all payroll activities in accordance with applicable law;
Process salary data in compliance with legal rules and internal client policies;
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of end-to-end processing;
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve any input inconsistencies;
Validate payroll transactions and participate in the resolution of disputes;
Process salary payments via SEPA and manage rejections;
Perform statutory activities: DEUEV, ELSTAM, communications to Krankenkassen, tasks and annual declarations;
Support responses and communications between authorities such as Finanzamt and Rentenversicherung;
Generate accounting entries and support the resolution of discrepancies and internal audits;
Report risks and delays according to defined escalation paths;
Participate in initiatives for continuous process improvement.
Payroll Customer Service
Provide support to employees with correct information on issues related to payroll processing according to SLA's and other defined metrics;
Participate in the reporting and justification of deviations and errors detected.
Other
Act as a backup for Country Lead or SME Germany Payroll when necessary;
Continuously update knowledge base articles and desktop procedures about German payroll legislation and processes.
Skills And Competencies
Previous experience in in-house payroll Germany;
Detailed knowledge of Gross-to-Net calculations and statutory deductions;
Fluency in English is a mandatory factor; German is preferential (not eliminatory);
Experience in SAP Payroll (ECP / SAP HCM);
Attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines;
Proficiency of MS Office / Google Suite;
Excellent organization, demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
