Senior Backend Developer, Lisbon

We are currently hiring a Senior Backend Developer  to join our I&E HUB in Lisbon.

Brief Role Description
Employees who analyze, design, develop, and implement IT applications and software components. They define interfaces for users or between systems and are involved in system integration and tests.

Possible Tasks within this Role Working in the context of autonomous vehicles you will create, test, deploy and run (Dev Ops) backend solutions and internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure.
You will develop and maintain functionality for our future trucks, using agile methodologies and being responsible for integral parts of our technical roadmap.
You will create products, prototypes and MVPs, supporting and directly interacting with our self driving systems.
You take care of cloud native services using containers, serverless functions, RESTful APIs and event streaming.
You will be able to take end to end responsibility for the products you build, working closely with other departments to test your software as part of the complete system.
You advise your team and other teams on all questions around backend and tool development in the autonomous vehicle area and work together on continuously improving the service, tooling and processes.
You take initiative to solve problems and overcome roadblocks, being the interface between architecture, technology and the user. You are a result-oriented individual.
You are happy to learn new technologies and to find innovative and pragmatic remedies.

Qualification requirements Bachelor/Master degree in related field or comparable job expertise.
At least 5 years of experience.
Relevant experience in the conception and implementation of complex software solutions in an international context.
Solid experience with backend development in Kotlin/Java with focus on RESTful APIs and event driven architecture (. Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, MQTT).
Relevant knowledge in frameworks (. Spring Boot).
Relevant knowledge of database management systems (like Postgres or Dynamo DB).
Solid experience with Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles as well as common software design patterns. Emphasis on quality, maintainability and usability.
Team-oriented mindset and strong collaboration skills.
Very good English skills, both written and spoken.
Having an Agile and Dev Ops mindset.
Experience with CI/CD and microservice or serverless architecture.
Experience in using and integrating cloud services (preferably AWS) with cloud paradigms like Infrastructure-as-code, alerting and monitoring.
Knowledge of Python for serverless functions, rapid prototyping and tooling is an advantage.
