What do you need to be a SMART DATA ENGINEER?
✅A degree in Computer Science, Informatics Engineering or similar
✅ 4–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer – mid to senior level
✅ Strong hands-on expertise with Spark & Scala
✅ Solid command of SQL for Big Data – think massive datasets
✅ Familiarity with Unix and writing clean shell scripts
✅ Knowledge of Python and Py Spark is a big plus
✅ Fluent English (mandatory), French is a nice-to-have
What will you be doing at SMART?
You’ll be joining a cross-border project team with our partners in Porto and Paris, working on scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that isn’t just cloud-based – we’re keeping it real with on-premises systems too.
- Build and optimize big data processing flows
- Maintain robust, scalable infrastructure with Spark/Scala
- Collaborate across borders – from Porto to Paris
- Apply your creativity and logic to solve complex data problems
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and Dev Ops engineers
- Drive best practices and automation in a hybrid environment
