Data Engineer - Looker Analytics

MAIN PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics Engineer to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in designing, developing, and maintaining Looker dashboards and explores. This role requires a deep understanding of Looker's capabilities and a strong ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data visualizations. Experience with Big Query and dbt is a plus.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Looker dashboards, explores, and data models to meet the evolving needs of the business. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Develop and maintain Looker data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance. Write efficient and well-documented Look ML code. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Looker dashboards and explores. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our Looker platform and processes. Work closely with other members of the data engineering team to ensure data quality and consistency. Proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks in Looker. Stay up-to-date with the latest Looker features and best practices. Manage code using Git version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Looker, including designing and developing dashboards and explores. Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data visualizations. Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices. Experience with Big Query and dbt is a plus. Experience with Git version control systems (e.g., Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Extensive experience in Look ML development, including creating custom visualizations and calculations. Deep understanding of Looker's data modeling capabilities, including joins, aggregations, and calculated fields. Experience with Looker's security and access control features. Proficiency in using Looker's explore functionality to perform ad-hoc data analysis. Experience with Looker's scheduling and alerting features. Experience optimizing Looker dashboards and explores for performance. Experience with Looker's API and integrations with other tools. #J-18808-Ljbffr
