To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Engineering Application Solution Architect. Position Summary Application Specialist support the development and implementation of software applications and business systems. This position will interact with business partners, application development, and software vendors to design, test, support, improve, sunset applications through their lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities Gathers and analyzes needs from internal and external business partners (including suppliers and OEM customers) and selects appropriate software applications and technology to meet business requirements and IT strategies Creates specification, diagrams and models to guide custom software development Collaborates with system architects, developers, and software vendors to design and develop processes, integrations and technology solutions Develops processes and procedures to facilitate improved software usage such as automating repetitive tasks, and to facilitate interaction with applicable operating systems Develops skills to operate key applications and provide application support to ensure smooth adoption of technology, including supporting application documentation and training, as needed Serves as focal point for logging software related issues and registering problems or enhancements with software vendor Manages releases for future upgrades and maintenance and ensures software works properly afterwards Researches new technology and interacts with software vendors for assistance, knowledge sharing, and driving requirements representing Yazaki interest Specific Area of Discipline Responsibilities This position is focused on Engineering and PLM Applications area within IT. Manages requirements and interacts with engineering representatives for design tool usage and updates Authors functional specifications for software development and change requirements Architects and maintains interfaces for importing/exporting OEM customer design data to Yazaki engineering systems Develops processes and procedures to facilitate improved software usage such as automating repetitive engineering tasks, design validation checks, and key system interfaces to downstream systems (e.g. SAP, Costing System, Manufacturing Systems) Maps key interfaces between engineering systems and downstream processes, including SAP, Costing, and Purchasing systems Provides program design support as needed, including troubleshooting software features and customizations Conducts training for Capital XC software including application functionality and Yazaki customization Maintains tool error reporting /status matrix Collects data for and analyze department metrics related to engineering tools Interacts with software vendors for assistance, knowledge sharing, and driving requirements representing Yazaki interest Distinctive Requirements Excellent communication skills and ability to understand client needs and translate needs into software design Good negotiation skills Methodical and analytical approach to problem solving Conceptual thinking to ensure all parts of an application function together and as intended Strategic thinking to develop solutions and new functionality for upgrades and enhancements Education Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Technology fields, or equivalent experience Enter Specific to Discipline: (eg.
