The Role
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a solid foundation in accounting principles, who is motivated to grow and develop a career in finance.
You will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial records, support month-end and year-end closing processes, and help ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card accounts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger entries.
Support the financial close process, ensuring timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Organize and maintain financial documentation and filing systems in line with best practices.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
Assist with internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and support.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments on financial matters and reporting needs.
Support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting systems and tools.
Provide general support to the accounting team and contribute to process improvements.
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
>5 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
Experience in multinational environments is a nice-to-have.
Experience and/or knowledge of Portuguese tax requirements (VAT, Mod.-22,...) is a nice-to-have.
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting requirements is a nice-to-have.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and grow in the accounting profession.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English is mandatory.
